I suspect the Ford fluid does not provided the required drag on the rings to slow them enough, at least on these oldest NA transmissions.

It was slight, but even a slight crunch over enough repititions will cause damage. It felt like the synchro rings were not quite in place when the shifter was pushing into gear. In fact, the Ford fluid caused a slight crunch from 1st to 2nd and again from 2nd to 3rd. In my 27 year old transmission it did not provide an overall improvement. I had been running Redline MT-90 in my 1991 Miata but decided to use the Ford XT-M5-QS based on comments on this board. I'm having trouble with the occasional 2-3 shift at high rev's on the track with the Redline MT90 that I have been running, and am looking to see if switching to this 'Miracle Juice' can push off a synchro rebuild for a bit. I'm in Australia and use my NB8B almost exclusively for track work. It may have gotten better over the past few months, but from what I've read here the proper Ford stuff offers an initial improvement and then also a long-term improvement with use for most. However, I used it in one of my 4x4 which has bad synchros and it initially made things far, far worse than whatever the previous owner had in it prior.
